Gardai say the Mallow man spat at them and said he hoped they caught Coronavirus

Richard Horgan with an address at Radharc na Fuinseog, Mallow, was brought before Mallow District Court where he was charged with two separate public order offences arising out of the incident.

The case arose after gardai were called to attend his home at 8am on Thursday morning,  gardai say he was highly intoxicated when they arrived
and became very aggressive when gardai attempted to arrest him

It's alleged that he spat at gardai and then shouted at them "I hope ye all get Corona" and gardai had to put a mask on him to stop him spitting at them.

Richard Horgan denies that he assaulted gardai or had spat at them saying his mother brought him up better than that

Judge Patricia Harney remanded him in custody to appear by video link at Cork District Court on April 22nd .
