The Taoiseach should contact the British Prime Minister to get vaccines, according to Professor Gabriel Scally.

The UK plan to have every adult given at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine by the end of July, with 17 million people already given injections.

Here, 350,000 doses have been administered with supply being flagged as a constant issue with the rollout.

Professor Gabriel Scally from the University of Bristol says Micheal Martin should ask for some vaccines.

"What I would do if I was the Taoiseach, I would talk to Boris Johnson and I would say 'we have shared territory on this island between the UK and the Republic, and the UK has purchased has 450 million vaccines, which is enough to do the whole adult population four times, with two vaccines'.

"So I would have a discussion about getting hold of some vaccine from the UK, and it could make an enormous difference."
