Youghal's parish priest says the community is struggling with the thought that Tina Satchwell's remains were so close to them for so long.

Tina's body was discovered at her home in Youghal last week, 6 years after she went missing.

A vigil to remember the life of Tina Satchwell is taking place in her hometown of Fermoy at 6 o'clock this evening.

Meanwhile, a separate vigil was held in Youghal over the weekend to remember Tina's life.

Speaking in Youghal to the Neil Prendeville Show, Father Bill Bermingham says it's been a difficult time for Tina's family and neighbours:

"We join our prayers especially for Tina's family, and I would like as well that we would spare a thought for her neighbours here along the Mall in Graton Street because it's a very distressing time for them to know that such a an occurrence happened in their midst, and the Tina lay not properly buried so close to them for this time".

Meanwhile, Tina's husband, Richard Satchwell appeared in court on Saturday and was charged with her murder. He will appear in court again tomorrow.
