A woman has died and two children and two men were injured in a road traffic collision in Co. Limerick.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened close to Rathkeale yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí and Emergency Service were called to the scene of the collision which involved two cars on the N21 south of Rathkeale at around 4.15 yesterday.
The driver of one of the car's - a woman in her 30's - was taken by ambulance to hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Her passengers - a man, also aged in his 30's - and two young children were also taken to hospital but their injuries aren't thought to be life threatening.
The driver of the second car - a man aged in his 20's - was also hospitalised but again his injuries don't pose a risk to his life.
The road was closed and a forensic collision investigation was carried out, and Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses to come forward. They also want anyone travelling in the area at the time who may have dash-cam footage to make it available to them.
