Sonya Egan of The Lawn, Lios Cara, Killeens, Co Cork appeared before a sitting of Cork District Court this afternoon.

Detective Sgt James Buckley of Anglesea Street Garda Station told Judge Treasa Kelly that the accused made no reply when each of the 14 charges were put to her.

The Court heard that the nine false statements and five false reports were made against three women and six men at Garda stations in Cork and Dublin.

Gardaí said they had no objection to bail once several conditions were met.

The accused must have no direct or indirect contact with the injured parties and must stay off all social media under her name and any other person’s name.

Egan must make no public mention of the injured parties and must not discuss them with any other person by email or otherwise with the exception of her legal team.

The court also ordered that Egan must have no direct or indirect contact with members of the Garda investigating team.

Solicitor Clodagh McCarthy said Egan understood the conditions.

Egan is due to appear in court again on the 14th of September.
