West Cork hotel manager blown away after receiving electricity bill for over €18,000

Manager of the 66-room Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery, Neil Grant, says the bill for July was almost €10,000 more expensive that the same month last year.

The bill comes amid huge electricity and gas price hikes for homes and businesses recently.

Electric Ireland yesterday announced that their customers will pay around €450 more for electricity every year and €500 extra on gas.

The ESRI says it's likely that other energy providers will raise their prices as winter approaches.

Speaking to RedFM News, Neil Grant from the Celtic Ross Hotel says a lot of businesses will be facing large bills over the next few months:
