Waiting times at Dublin Airport today are drastically shorter than last weekend, when around 1,400 people missed their flights.
The DAA says those chaotic scenes won't be repeated over the bank holiday.
Wait times at security in both terminals today have been as short as ten minutes.
Dublin Airport Authority’s Graham McQueen says they know what went wrong last weekend and how to fix it:
"We obviously didn't have enough staff rostered. We hold our hands up to that. All week we've been working to make sure that that's not going to be the case today, this weekend, or in any week to come. So we're confident today that we can get everyone through, and the weekend is looking good with a full roster of staff in place".
President of the Irish Travel Agents Association Paul Hackett says the people of Ireland are due a panic-free holiday after a tough few years:
"It has added to the stress factor and that's unfair. When we book a holiday, a huge part of the joy of a holiday is looking forward and that has been taken away from people".
