United day of action taking place in third level institutions in support of Palestine

A united day of action is taking place in third level institutions across the country today in support of Palestine.

Academic staff and students are holding a number of demonstrations including here in Cork at UCC and MTU.

A total of 17 universities and colleges nationwide are taking part in a Stand for Palestine today.

Over 4,000 third level students in Gaza have been killed in the conflict.

Staff and students are calling for ties to be cut with Israeli universities.

The demonstrations which began at 9am will continue across the day.
