Uisce Eireann says its working to repair a major burst in the city.
Customers on Centre Park Road, Albert Road and Monaghan Road may experience loss of water supply or temporary water discolouration.
The water provider says in the event of discolouration customers should run the tap for up to 20 minutes till it runs clear.
