UCC students have voted to ban the promotion of student race days.
The Irish Examiner report that a motion brought by the UCC Vegan Society was passed by the UCC Student Council.
It means that it is now UCC Students' Union Policy to place a ban on being involved in, running or supporting events that involve horse racing or betting on animals.
The Students' Union had previously voted to ban the promotion of greyhound racing events.
