105 beds will be delivered at St Finbarr's Hospital in the city and a centre for 50 people will be built in Midleton.
Each unit is made up of 25-bed households which include single and twin bedroom ensuites.
The centre at St Finbarr's will also include 30 beds for people with Dementia.
The facilities are expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
It has also been confirmed that the Munster Regional Transfusion Centre on the grounds of St Finbarr's will be redeveloped.
