The Defence Forces has issued an update, adding the medical staff are satisfied with Trooper Kearney's progress.
The soldier from Killeagh in East Cork was injured on December 14th, in the same attack that killed Private Sean Rooney while they were travelling to Beirut.
Private Rooney was laid to rest three days before Christmas - he was described a national hero at the service.
