The trial of Richard Satchwell has heard from Tina Satchwell’s cousin, who described her as 'kind-hearted' and said she never knew her to be violent.

58-year-old Richard Satchwell of Grattan Street in Youghal has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Tina Satchwell at the same address in March 2017.

Sarah Howard said she was very close to her cousin Tina Satchwell, and had spent a lot of time with her.

She said she phoned Richard Satchwell on the 26th of March 2017 after learning Tina was missing, and was told she had left following an argument and had thrown a cup at her husband.

Ms Howard also said Richard Satchwell told her his wife said she hated him and had wasted 28 years of her life with him while at Carrigtwohill car boot sale on the 19th of March 2017.

Prosecution barrister Gerardine Small told the court Ms Howard’s evidence has concluded the prosecution’s case.

The trial resumes tomorrow.
