Plans to avoid a repeat of chaotic scenes on the road to Croke Park have been unveiled ahead of the All-Ireland Hurling final.

Tens of thousands of Cork and Tipperary supporters will travel to the game on Sunday, with most using the M8, M7 and M50.

Fans complained of huge tailbacks at toll booths and traffic congestion on the motorway ahead of the semi-final two weeks ago.

Speaking to RedFM News Minister of State at the Department of Transport Jerry Buttimer outlines part of the plan for Sunday

"Toll operators have assured me that they will have a full compliment of  management, operational and backup staff available, and all the contractors will have a fully mobilised team of incident support units. From a Cork point of view at the Fermoy and Watergrasshill Toll, Direct Route have said they will deploy additional staff. We will also have enough people to have cards to be able to read, in sufficient numbers"
