Tomorrow will be a day of remembrance to mark the 100th anniversary of the arrival of An Garda Síochána to the Cork West Division.

At 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, a boat will arrive at the Main Pier in Kinsale, after travelling down the Bandon River, just how the first members of An Garda Síochána in Kinsale did.

The Garda Band will perform outside St John De Baptiste Church from half past 1, and there will be an Ecumenical Service at 2.

This will be followed but a parade led by the Garda Ceremonial Unit and Garda Band.

Assistant Commissioner Finn will lay a wreath at Kinsale Garda station to commemorate all those who have served in the Cork West Garda Division.

And a Commemorative Centenary Plaque will then be unveiled by County Mayor Gillian Coughlan.
