A third round of public consultation is being sought on the BusConnects plan.

Cork City Council is to write to the National Transport Authority to seek a further round of consultation on the proposed sustainable transport corridors in the City.

The Echo report that the motion was tabled at Monday's council meeting, which was agreed unanimously by councillors.

The motion asked that a third round of public consultation would take place, while also extending the current consultation to allow for the publication of traffic data and modelling, which would allow all submissions to take account of real time traffic flows.

There are 11 proposed sustainable transport corridors, which would deliver 91km of new bus lanes, along with 96km of new cycling infrastructure.
