- 81 per cent of Principals or Deputy Principals admit to having hired an unqualified teacher in the last year. The figure from the ASTI comes as there are at least 416 unfilled secondary teacher jobs nationwide.
- Donald Trump's been indicted for a fourth time over his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 US election results. Prosecutors in Georgia have brought 11 counts against the former US President and his top team - including forgery and racketeering.
- Barack Obama says there needs to be increased efforts to help those affected by the wildfires in Maui. The fires which tore through the Hawaiian island a week ago have so far claimed the lives of 99 people.
