- Ireland is obliged to accept people who are seeking asylum here. That's according to the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission, after 55 people who arrived in the country since Tuesday, were not provided with state accommodation.
- US president Joe Biden says he's "outraged and deeply pained" after watching footage of a black man being beaten by police officers. 29-year-old Tyre Nichols died after the attack in Memphis, Tennesse.
