A Man in his 50's remains in Garda custody after a man died following a stabbing incident in Hollyhill on the northside of Cork city over the weekend. Gardaí and emergency services were called to a house there at around 4.30am.

Cork County Council has heard how batteries from speed indicator road signs are being stolen. A meeting of the Kanturk-Mallow Municipal District, heard how engineers were called to fix a speed indicator sign on the N20 main Cork to Limerick road on the approach to the village of Ballyhea.
