- Motorists are being urged to drive with caution this morning following torrential rain in the City and County yesterday. Cork City Council and County Council crews responded to localised flooding in Mallow, Midleton, the Commons and Tramore Road while Gardaí responded to a multi vehicle collision near Carrigtwohill and another crash at the Kinsale road roundabout.
- A woman has died and two children and two men were injured in a road traffic collision in County Limerick. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened close to Rathkeale yesterday afternoon.
- Householders are receiving the first of three 200 euro electricity credits today. The government will be providing 2 point 2 million account holders a total of 600 euro in credits over the next six months in an effort to tackle the cost of living crisis.
- The promised double child-benefit payment will be made from today. 638,000 families across the State will receive 280 Euro per child.
