An investigation is underway into an incident at the Mercy University Hospital. It's after a patient was allegedly assaulted by a member of the public.

Pregnant women, - particularly those 37 weeks pregnant - who were booked under the care of Private Midwives Ireland are being urged to contact Cork University Hospital. The call comes on foot of the sudden closure last week of Private Midwives Ireland, an independent provider of midwifery care across Ireland.

The new Earl of the castle Alex Conyngham has told the Irish Independent that spiders, who've weaved millions of webs in the basement of the building for years, were rounded up and moved to Connemara in Galway where they stayed while the filming was completed.
