The high number of people killed on Cork roads last year has prompted Cork GAA to support a new poster based road safety campaign

15 people died on Cork roads in 2023 and provisional figures show a 19% increase in the number of road deaths nationally last year

The new campaign, in association with the County Council and the Gardaí, aims to appeal to road users to exercise caution and promote shared responsibility on the roads.

Pat Horgan chairperson of Cork GAA says similar to being on the pitch, this campaign encourages motorists to give respect and get respect on the roads for a safer journey

"The Cork County Board are delighted to be associated with this campaign. The deaths on our roads are frightening and we all have to be extra vigilant on how we behave when driving"
