The Lee Covid Test Centre on the Northside of the city has closed today, after 19 months.

PCR testing will remain available elsewhere for those who need it to access therapeutic treatments, or as part of their clinical treatment.

The Lee Covid Test Centre opened in Blackpool in September 2020.

Since then, an estimated 290,675 PCR tests have been carried out at the centre.

There is now only one test centre for Covid-19 in Cork city - the South Douglas Road - appointments seven days a week

The HSE say they expect all testing centres to close later this year, once public health advice changes for population testing.

PCR testing will remain available for those who need it to access therapeutic treatments, or as part of their clinical treatment.

Staff at the Lee Covid test centre have been invited to apply for other positions within Cork Kerry Community Healthcare Service such as Health Care Support Assistants, clerical officers and Healthcare Assistants.
