A teenage boy charged with threatening a woman and criminal damage has been told he must quit cannabis and manage his anger.
The boy, who cannot be named, appeared at Bandon District Court today after being remanded to Oberstown Youth Detention Campus.
The boy responded ‘I learned a lot’ when Judge Joanne Carroll asked him how he got on at Oberstown.
He also said ‘I didn’t manage...’ when asked how he managed, before saying he thought it would be a lot worse.
Judge Carroll told the boy he has a lot of potential and said he cannot headbutt or threaten a woman in any way or else she would have no option but to return him to Oberstown.
The boy was ordered to engage with probation services, a youth worker and a counsellor, to abstain from intoxicants and abide by a curfew.
The judge told the boy he has a supportive family, must take this chance and remanded him on bail until September.
