The Taoiseach admits there are "issues" with Uisce Eireann's handling of Cork's dirty water issue
Thousands of homes across the city are affected and Uisce Éireann says the problem lies with old cast iron pipes which are being replaced
Uisce Éireann are also running a flushing works programme as families says they cannot drink the brown water and have had to replace appliances damaged by the water supply.
Speaking to RedFM News Taoiseach Micheál Martin says he is not happy with Uisce Eireann's response and says it's a public health issue which needs to be resolved
"There are issues in particular sites and this speaks to governance - proper governance and management in wastewater treatment plants and in water supply plants, and there can be no excuse for that. Water is about public health. It's a public health issue, and it should not arise in terms of context of water. To me, public health is the bottom line here, and it just simply has to be dealt with"
