The Tánaiste says Cork city needs a dedicated task force just as much as Dublin.
A new body focused on rejuvenating the capital has been established.
Speaking to RedFM News in Crosshaven this morning, Simon Harris says he will push for the programme to be implemented in Cork:
"Very conscious of the importance of the equilibrium between Cork and Dublin, and I'm very, very aware of that and the Real Capital and all of that. The establishment of the special purpose vehicle is a really important way forward, because it's a recognition by government that there needs to be, effectively, a statutory agency, because kind of a statutory function set up by local government. Obviously, if it's a similar task force in Cork, I think that model would also work well"
