St Vincent De Paul needs to double its membership in the city to maintain its services.
The charity says it’s under huge pressure amid the growing number of calls for help and needs 300 more members to volunteer.
Cork city member Julie Ann Ramsell-Kelly told RedFM News, volunteers are at risk of burnout trying to help those in need:
"It is putting a huge strain on volunteers. I do think we are all at risk of burnout if we don't get more capacity which means a dilution of services and we don't want that. We make too much of an impact on people's lives"
