A large group of students, parents and local reps gathered outside the gates of the school this lunchtime to voice their opposition to plans to amalgamate the school with North Presentation School in Farranree.
Parents say they have not been consulted about the move and are calling on the Education Minister Norma Foley to stop the schools being merged.
A meeting of the schools trustees and the board of management is due to take place tomorrow to discuss matters.
