A 59-year-old woman who died after being attacked near her home in Ballinlough in Cork will be laid to rest today.
Stella Gallagher died at Cork University Hospital last Monday while her husband Brian was treated for serious injuries.
Tributes have been paid to the retired chemical engineer whose funeral will take place today.
The native of Ballinspittle worked at Eli Lilly in Kinsale for many years.
She has also been remembered by Togher Community Garden as a gifted gardener.
25 year old David Gallagher of Shrewsbury Downs, Ballinlough, has been charged with the murder of his mother, and assault causing harm to his father.
Stella's funeral mass will take place in the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Ballinlough at 11 o'clock this morning.
