The source of the fish kill on the River Blackwater in North Cork has not yet been determined
Last month 46,000 fish were killed on a 30km section of the river.
Technical teams have concluded that the most likely cause of the fish mortality was an irritant in the water, but the source and specific compound cannot be determined despite numerous inspections and the analysis of over 40 samples
Angling is continuing on the Blackwater, with no water quality issues currently detected.
Minister of State at the Department of Fisheries and the Marine Timmy Dooley says a review of actions taken by all agencies involved in the investigation will now be conducted
