Many immigrant nurses who come to work in Cork end up having to share a bed because of a lack of suitable accommodation.

Cork Indian Nurses says the current accommodation crisis in the city and county is having a detrimental impact on people who move here for employment.

Head of the group, Janet Baby Joseph told RedFM News nurses often move here and end up in unsafe accommodation:

"We leave our familes, we leave our kids, and we are travelling all the way here, going through so much examinations and registration processes, and at the end when you get a job, you have no place to live, and when you do you are sqeezed into a room or a bed with someone you have never even met before, and that's horrible, we don't feel happy or safe or secure to be working here."
