Sexual Violence Centre: findings of Women's Aid report are shocking and need to serve as a huge ‘wake up call’

A survey of 20,000 young people found that 93% said their partner had threatened to post explicit or intimate videos of them online during an argument while 72% said their partner demands access to their phones and passwords.

83% reported that their partner had hit them, while 62% said they had felt forced into unwanted sexual activity.

The ‘Too into You’ report also warns of an ‘urgent need’ for more work to be done with young people, and young men in particular, about the root cause of intimate relationship abuse and violence.

Speaking to RedFM News, Mary Crilly from the Sexual Violence Centre says people need to recognise the signs of controlling behaviour in a relationship:
