School secretaries and caretakers say they are prepared to strike at the beginning of the next school year.
Fórsa members who are unable to join the public service pension scheme will commence a ballot for strike action from Tuesday.
Speaking to RedFM News, Secretary of Watergrasshill National School Noreen O’Callaghan says all staff deserve to be treated the same:
"School secretaries and caretakers, principals and teachers are all employed by the Board of Management and they're all paid by the Department of Education except school secretaries and caretakers do not have access to the public service agreements so we do not get pensions, critical illness or bereavement leave."
