School secretaries and caretakers in Cork say they don’t want their indefinite strike action to impact vulnerable children.
It’s after SNA’s refused to pass the picket at a Dublin school forcing two autism classes to close yesterday.
Forsa members are standing outside their local TD offices in Cork today calling for the same pensions and benefits as teachers and SNA’s on their 4th day of strike action.
Speaking to RedFM News, Secretary of Beaumont Girls National School Paula Harrington says the Department of Education must engage with Forsa:
"Children with ASD are the most vulnerable, we don't want to impact them, it shouldn't. But this isn't up to us, if a school is closing it's not because of school secretaries, or SNA's or Fórsa, it's because the Government isn't engaging. So we need to put it on their doorstep."
