School secretaries and caretakers have begun balloting on possible strike action.
Fórsa members want the same critical illness leave, pension rights and bereavement leave as other public service workers.
Watergrasshill National School's Secretary Noreen O’Callaghan told RedFM News school secretaries and caretakers feel isolated
"We are a lone worker, and this will be highlighted when we're picketing on the days that we're on striking because we don't want to be the lone worker outside the school. We'll probably arrange pickets in multiple schools where people can meet. We do not get pensions, we do not get critical illness, and we do not have bereavement leave. We are excluded from these and this is why we are fighting for this"
