The trial of Richard Satchwell has heard he told a man his wife was a “street angel and a house devil” who had knocked out two of his teeth.

The 58-year-old of Grattan Street, Youghal County Cork has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Tina Satchwell at the same address in March 2017.

John Keohane told the court Tina Satchwell told him she loved her husband and would never do anything to harm him on the day she was last in public at Carrigtwohill car boot sale

One week later on the 26th of March 2017 Mr Keohane said Richard Satchwell told him Tina had left him, had taken €25,000 and had attacked him, once knocking out two of his teeth.

The jury also heard from Angela Sheehan, who Richard Satchwell had previously described as his wife’s best friend.

Ms Sheehan said they were not friends, but were acquaintances and she had never seen Tina Satchwell again after the Satchwells moved from Fermoy to Youghal.
