Little Island Community Association says it’s deeply disappointed by An Bord Pleanala’s decision to grant permission on appeal to build a waste transfer facility in the area.

The group says residents and businesses have already raised strong objections to the project and remain hugely opposed to the facility

Speaking to RedFM News, Alison Ryan from Little Island Community Association believes the facility being developed by Country Clean poses a risk to their community

"It's not the right site, it's up a very narrow road, it's not in line with the County Development Plan that says any development is not supposed to negatively impact on the neighbours  Any future or current one isn't supposed to damage our lifestyle. This certainly would damage our lifestyles"
