Investigations into the death of a woman killed on the road in North Cork are continuing.
It’s understood the woman, who was a pedestrian, died in a tragic incident close to her home in Ballyellis outside Mallow yesterday evening.
The Garda Ombudsman is investigating the incident as the woman was interacting with Gardaí at the time of the crash.
Speaking to RedFM News Mallow based Labour TD Eoghan Kenny says locals are shocked
"My own thoughts and of course, the thoughts of the community in Mallow and its environs are absolutely with the family of the person who has passed away. I know Mallow, of course, is a very tight knit community. It's a deeply sad time for that family and the friends of the individual who died"
