Gardaí are investigating a crash in East Cork between a cyclist and a van yesterday evening, in which a man in his 60s died.
His death brings to six the number of people who have died on Cork roads so far this year.
Emergency services attended the incident on the N25 at Carrigtwohill and the cyclist, in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The driver of the van, also in his 60s, received treatment at the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone who has dash-cam footage to contact them.
