Cappabue National School in Bantry claimed first place for Ireland thanks to their rap song about climate change.

"One Small Change" earned 188 points in the schoolovision 2020 contest today.

The competition is a primary school's version of the Eurovision Song Contest and has been held annually for the last 12 years with schools from over 30 countries taking part.

The pupils at the two teacher school at Cappabue recorded the song three months ago with their amazing rap quickly going viral.

Teacher Olive Creed says the children were inspired by a project they did, looking at plastic waste in Bantry Bay.

Ireland were announced as the winners of the competition this morning with Norway coming second and Austria taking third place.

13 other regions and countries awarded the Irish entry a maximum of 12 points each.
