The preferred route for the northern distributor road in Cork has been announced.
The National transport Authority has signed off on plans for the proposed new 14 km road.
It will run from Carrigrohane Road to Glanmire, and will cross the north side of the city via Holyhill, Dublin Hill and Banduff.
However it could be over ten years before the project is completed - the project is not set to go to tender until 2031, with works set to take up to five years to complete.
