Plans are afoot for the the expansion of the Maritime College in Ringaskiddy, to cater for increased demand for offshore energy generation.
The Irish Examiner reports that the National Maritime College of Ireland is planning to create new courses for the offshore energy sector and also to boost its apprenticeship courses.
A major review will get underway at the college next month, to be completed by next spring, which will look at adding and updating courses to prepare people to feed the requirements of emerging offshore energy projects.
