Pieta says half of their clients are under 18 years old.

The suicide and self-harm prevention charity says 84% of the young people coming to them are experiencing suicidal thoughts while 70% are struggling with self-harm.

The new data comes as Pieta launches its No More Silence campaign to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day today.

Speaking to RedFM News Matthew Oakes from Pieta says the campaign aims to make suicide prevention a national priority:

"Our new campaign is called "No More Silence." It's about making suicide a national priority, and making sure we're focused on young people, we want to make sure young people know that help is there for them too."
