The number of people being treated on trolleys in Irish hospitals has almost halved in the past week.
Wait times remain high though, with 96 people waiting more than 24 hour to be seen in emergency departments, according to the HSE.
Hospital staff worked additional hours over the weekend to clear the backlog, with over 400 people discharged on Saturday alone.
