The number of children waiting more than a year to access mental health Services has almost doubled in the Cork and Kerry Region.
Since September of last year, the number of children waiting for a considerable amount of time in the region has risen to 343 from 178.
Nationally 4,434 children are on waiting lists, with the number waiting more than a year up from 521 to 682.
Staff shortages in the Cork/Kerry region has seen the HSE look abroad for staff to fill roles, with the equivalent of 17.7 full time roles across a number of disciplines, including psychology, nursing and social work, remaining unfilled.
