Northside Green Party councillors have asked An Bord Pleanála to hold an oral hearing into a proposed strategic housing development near Blackpool.
The Cork County GAA Board lodged a planning application last month for 319 homes, a crèche and park at a site near the Old Whitechurch Road, at Kilbarry.
If planning is granted, the GAA would sell the site to service the County Board's debts.
According to today's Echo. Green Party politicians believe this development warrants an oral hearing because of concerns that signigficant quantities of construction materials on the site date back to the late 1990s.
