A North Cork woman who lost her husband, son and unborn daughter in a horror crash in the UK is hosting her final "remorial" fundraiser in their names this June

Elber Twomey from Meelin was pregnant when she lost her baby Elber Marie, husband Con and young son Oisin when they were killed in a crash involving a suicidal driver as they were returning from a family holiday in Devon in 2012

Elber, who is a road safety and mental health campaigner, has been hosting the Twomey Family Remorial in June over the last 10 years, to fundraise for the hospitals which cared for her family, for suicide support and mental health charities, and for Brú Columbanus in Wilton, which provides home-from-home accommodation for relatives of seriously-ill patients.

Elber has described the decision as "bittersweet" but she told the Irish Examiner she believes this is the right time

She added that her family will never be forgotten and the ending of the Remorial and she will continue her work with road safety and mental health campaigning which has seen her team up with
police forces in Ireland and the UK, the Road Safety Authority and various suicide support charities
