"NonFire" is replacing the traditional 'Bonna Night' this Saint John's Eve.

Cork City Council has partnered with over 50 community groups to celebrate the annual family-friendly festival on the 23rd June.

Events will be organised in parks and green spaces in Mahon, Togher, Mayfield, The Glen, Knocknaheeny and Farranree.

The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Colm Kelleher launched "NonFire Night 2022" yesterday.

Since "NonFire Night" began in 2007, there has been a steady reduction in the number of problem fires anti-social behaviour throughout Cork.

Cork City Council and Cork City Fire Brigade took the opportunity to urge the public not give out rubbish or support illegal bonfires, and instead attend one of the organised events across the cities parks and green spaces.
