Uisce Éireann is appealing to people in Clonakilty to conserve water with night time restrictions in place for some customers to help meet demand
It's also issued a national appeal for people to conserve water at home, in the garden and at work as 32 schemes across the country are currently at drought status.
Mairead Conlon with Uisce Éireann, says a hosepipe ban hasn't be imposed, but further action may be necessary:
"Nationally we're asking people to be more mindful of non essential ussage and to use a sponge and a bucket when washing the car instead of a powerwasher."
