A new festival aimed at cementing Cork’s status as a food destination gets underway in the city next week.
The five-day ‘Cork on a Fork’ festival begins next Wednesday the 17th and will feature street events, tasting masterclasses, cooking demos and family activities.
Cork’s RedFM is media partner to the event which will open with a ‘Taste of Princes Street’ dinner for 200 guests seated at a long table along the newly pedestrianised street.
Over 50 venues are taking part in the festival, which it's hoped will become an annual event.
Speaking to RedFM News, City Centre Co-ordinator at the City Council John Hayes, says 'Cork on A Fork' is a great opportunity to showcase Cork's unique offering:
"We have a great offering here in Cork City between the venues that are available to people but also the producers in Cork City and in the region. And like they have really jumped at this opportunity to showcase that excellent offering that's available for anyone that's living or visiting or working in Cork City, as some of the events might be free. Some of them you would have to get tickets and a lot of them are available on Eventbrite. But all that detail is on our website" https://www.corkcity.ie/en/cork-on-a-fork-fest/
